Here's a breakdown of some of the most promising prospects from each team, along with my personal commentary and analysis.
American League East
Blue Jays: Sean Keys, INF
Keys has been a standout performer at Triple-A Buffalo, showcasing his power and speed with a .355 average, seven extra-base hits, and eight walks. His ability to hit for power and average makes him a valuable asset, and with an opening in the corner infield spots, he could be a key contributor to the big club. Personally, I think Keys has the potential to be an everyday player, and his performance at Double-A New Hampshire further cements his talent.
Orioles: Joseph Dzierwa, LHP
Dzierwa, a former ace at Michigan State, has been a standout pitcher for the Orioles. With a 2.41 ERA, .183 BAA, and 11.1 K/9 rate, he has proven his ability to dominate at the Double-A level. His 6-foot-8 frame and high strikeout rate make him a valuable asset, and a promotion to Triple-A would be a significant step forward in his development. In my opinion, Dzierwa is a strong candidate for a promotion, and his performance in the Eastern League has been impressive.
Rays: Theo Gillen, OF
Gillen, a 2024 18th overall pick, has taken his game to a new level in his second full season. With 10 homers in 52 games at High-A Bowling Green, he has shown his power potential. His .333/.442/.571 line and 160 wRC+ in the South Atlantic League make him a strong candidate for a promotion to Double-A. At 20 years old, Gillen is ready for the challenge, and his performance this season has been impressive.
American League Central
Guardians: Braylon Doughty, RHP
Doughty, a 2024 supplemental first-round pick, has been performing well with a 3.21 ERA and 60/11 K/BB ratio in High-A. His 92-95 mph fastball and high-spin breakers make him a formidable pitcher. With a 98 mph fastball, he is equipped to handle Double-A hitters. In my view, Doughty is a strong candidate for a promotion, and his performance in the Eastern League has been impressive.
Royals: Blake Mitchell, C
Mitchell, a special case with a .988 OPS and 150 wRC+, has been on a tear in High-A Quad Cities. His 25.7 percent BB rate is tops among full-season qualifiers, and his 25.7 percent BB rate is impressive. However, his .218 average and 34.5 percent K rate might normally be a red flag. But with his exceptional performance, Mitchell is a strong candidate for a promotion to Double-A.
American League West
Angels: Tyler Bremner, RHP
Bremner, a No. 2 overall pick, has been slowly ramping up after missing a month with an illness. His 2.19 ERA over 24 2/3 IP and 13.5 K/9 rate make him a strong candidate for a promotion to Double-A Rocket City. The Angels' typically aggressive approach might have moved him up sooner, but his performance has been impressive.
National League East
Braves: Eric Hartman, OF
Hartman, a 2024 Draft pick, has been a revelation with a .954 OPS over 59 games. His speed and power combination, along with 26 stolen bases, make him a strong candidate for a promotion to Double-A Columbus. At 20 years old, Hartman is ready for the challenge, and his performance this season has been impressive.
National League Central
Cardinals: Joshua Báez, OF
Báez, a 2025 Draft pick, has been on fire with a .726 slug and 17 homers in 37 games since May 1. His ability to overcome swing-and-miss and chase concerns makes him a valuable asset. With the Cardinals' need for a contender, Báez deserves a call-up to the big club.
National League West
Rockies: Roldy Brito, OF/2B
Brito, a 19-year-old, has impressed with a .311/.354/.470 line. His ability to make swing decisions and his overall performance make him a strong candidate for a promotion. The Rockies' aggressive approach to promoting young players could see Brito get his feet wet in Triple-A.
